Sting wants fishing hut demolished
Rocker Sting is campaigning to have a tiny fishermen’s shelter near his mansion in Wiltshire, England, bulldozed, because he insists it is a blight on the landscape. According to contactmusic.com, the former Police frontman frontman is furious the structure was erected without planning permission, and has reportedly contacted the council in a bid to have it removed. The singer’s spokesman says, “I can confirm that Sting has objected. “This is a commercial venture by a multi-millionaire property developer, built without planning consent in an area of outstanding natural beauty, which is also a site of special scientific interest. George turns ‘manny’
George Michael is friend Geri Halliwell’s “manny”. The former Spice Girl will only let her mother, the Careless Whisper singer and his partner Kenny Goss look after her daughter Bluebell and is delighted with George’s childcare skills. A source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper, “George and Kenny are happy to look after Bluebell. They’re mannies, the male equivalent of nannies.” Geri, 34, has been reluctant to let anyone else look after Bluebell and her concerns were increased when a temporary nanny allegedly physically abused her three-month-old daughter. The alleged incident occurred when Geri left baby Bluebell in the care of a temporary member of staff when she went for a walk with friends during a stay at the Liphook Golf Club, in Hampshire, on August 18. When the 34-year-old star returned, her baby was shrieking and she found bruises on her arms.

Zeta-Jones furious with dog tribute
Catherine Zeta Jones was furious to learn her name was to inspire a canine character in the new movie Snow Cake, and ordered her lawyers to halt the unflattering tribute immediately, says contactmusic.com. The film, starring Sigourney Weaver and Alan Rickman, was to feature a pooch bearing the same moniker as the Hollywood actress, but Zeta-Jones was not amused. An aide for production company Revolution Films says, “Her lawyers wrote back and said that on no account could her name be used for a dog.” Scriptwriter Angela Pell says, “I liked the idea of naming the dog Catherine Zeta-Jones, because in the film it belongs to a teenage girl, and I felt it was the kind of name a teenage girl might go for. “It’s a shame we had to change it, it’s only a story after all.”

New Orleans jeweller Tiffany Adler, who is displaying the tiara in her store, said, “Certainly it’s getting a lot of attention.” Madonna wore the tiara when she married Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ director Guy Ritchie in a lavish ceremony at a Scottish castle in December 2000. Meanwhile, Madonna is planning to record a duet with rocker Lenny Kravitz. Lenny joined Madonna on stage at her Paris concert at the weekend, the latest leg of her “Confessions” world tour, for a performance of her song I Love New York. The collaboration was such a success that they have now reportedly scheduled some studio time for later this year so that they can work on some new material together.

Hilary Swank has been spotted canoodling with an alleged new lover. The Million Dollar Baby actress was seen getting intimate with 39-year-old John Campisi, who is one of her agents, during a trip to Rome (Italy), last weekend. An onlooker told People magazine, “They were hugging and touching all the time.” Swank, 32, announced she was splitting from her husband of eight years, Chad Lowe, in January. Her apparent romance with Campisi has quashed rumours that she and Lowe were on the verge of a reconciliation. A friend of the actress’ said, “Hilary and John are having a great time getting to know each other. She’s really happy. You can see it in her eyes.” The relationship comes just months after Swank, who is currently filming her new movie P.S., I Love You in New York and Ireland, insisted she was going to try and stay single for a while.
